Subject: QR-1 Valve

Over the years, we have received complaints of noise in the QR-1 valve when it is

exhausting. Engineering has come up with a good fix, which field testing has proven

eliminates the noise. The fix is a small piece of polyurethane foam material cut in the

shape of a cross and placed on top of the diaphragm. The insert is #292362. The part

number of a QR-1 valve with the insert is piece #289042. Piece #289042 has 3/8”

supply port and ¼” delivery ports. This valve #289042 has 1 psi supply and delivery

differential.

The insert can be used in any QR-1 valve to eliminate the noise. The insert #292362 is

placed in the center of the diaphragm on the top side or supply side of the diaphragm.
